History of US Supreme Court
The Supreme Court Historical Society, established in 1974 as a private non-profit organization in the District of Columbia, is devoted to the preservation and collection of the rich history of the United States Supreme Court.
With a mission to promote historical research, the Society actively acquires antiques, artifacts, and documents related to the Court’s history. Through the sponsorship of educational lectures, curriculum, and publication of books and materials, it aims to raise public awareness about the Court’s significant contributions to our nation’s constitutional heritage.
Recognizing the value of long-forgotten memorabilia, artwork, and records stored away in attics and storerooms, the Society strives to reverse the loss and neglect of these historical treasures. By acquiring and preserving significant materials, it ensures their safeguarding for future generations. Furthermore, the Society fosters research on all aspects of the Court, exploring its diverse traditions and the influential personalities woven into its illustrious history.
